This privacy policy explains how Universe of Objects stores data, when information may leave your device, and what choices you have when using local storage, Apple Cloud, AWS, static URLs, or Stream Pulse back ends.
Universe of Objects is designed as a user-controlled data app. The app stores and manages information that you create, such as notes, tasks, images, diagrams, records, tables, and other object types. The app does not need a central account to function for local storage use.
The app may store the following types of user-created content:
When you use local file storage, the app stores universe configuration in files such as storageOption.json and stores object data in JSON files associated with each universe. This data remains on your device unless you export, back it up, sync it externally, or share the device.
The app may also create local cache and helper files, such as favourites data, object index cache files, and temporary export files. These are used to improve performance and usability.
Data may leave your device only when you choose or configure features that require it. Examples include:
If you configure a third-party or remote storage provider, your data is also subject to that provider’s terms, security, and privacy practices.
When you use the "Ask AI" automation step, the app may send the prompt text to either OpenAI or Anthropic, depending on the provider you select. This only happens after the app asks for your explicit permission and you approve the action. The prompt may include text or object content you choose to include in the automation step, and that data is then subject to the selected provider’s privacy policy and service terms.
If you use the camera or photo library features, the app may access images you capture or select. Imported images can be stored as object data inside the app. Depending on your storage configuration, those images may remain local or may be synced to a service you configure.
To improve search and navigation, the app may generate local cache files and object indexes. These caches are intended to stay on the device unless your chosen storage option or device backup process copies them elsewhere.
The app supports Apple Shortcuts and App Intents. When you run a shortcut, the data processed depends on the shortcut action. For example, a shortcut may search universes, return object JSON, open objects, or generate diagram images from Mermaid text. Shortcut output can then be handled by Apple’s Shortcuts system or other apps you connect to that workflow.
Based on the current app structure, Universe of Objects is primarily focused on data storage and user workflows. This privacy page is written on the assumption that the app does not rely on a separate advertising profile or mandatory analytics account for basic operation. If analytics, crash reporting, or third-party telemetry are added in the future, this policy should be updated to describe them clearly.
You control the universes and objects you create. You can delete objects, remove universes, and choose storage options. However, if data has been synced to an external service, copies may remain there according to that service’s retention policies, backups, or version history.
Deleting an item in the app may not immediately remove every cached, mirrored, synced, or backed-up copy outside the device.
The app stores information using the storage methods you choose. No storage system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting your device, your cloud accounts, your AWS credentials, your remote endpoints, and any exported files.
Universe of Objects is a general-purpose productivity and data organization app. It is not specifically directed to children. Do not store sensitive personal information unless you understand the risks of your chosen storage and sync configuration.
This privacy policy may be updated as the app evolves. If storage, sync, analytics, AI, or external integrations change in a meaningful way, this page should be revised to reflect the current behavior of the app.
